Congrats, C-Lo

Our very good friend Cindy Lo (and by our I mean my family’s, not the royal Our) has decided to leave Trilogy and take some time off. As long as I’ve known her she’s been going a million miles per hour and I’m curious to see her with nothing to do :-).

Cindy, you’re an inspiration to us all and a great friend to boot. I know that you’ll excel at whatever you do.

And if anyone’s looking to buy a really nice house in North Austin, drop her a parties.

WWW turns 10

According to /., Mosaic beta version .10 was released 10 years ago today. I don’t remember this release, but I do remember the first time I used the Internet.

I was a freshman at UT (1994) and my good friend Shari told me that there was a way to communicate (for free!) with my girlfriend at the time all the way down in San Antonio. UT was offering free POP email accounts, as was UTSA, so instead of spending mad bucks on phone calls we could send email back and forth to our heart’s content. As a matter of fact, I think we ended up breaking up (consensually, IIRC) via email. Boy were we ahead of the curve:-).

Then, another friend showed me gopher and Archie, which I used for a whole month before I found Mosaic. And after that it was all over :-).

My Happy

Aiden turned 2 last Saturday. We took him and several of his classmates to Gymboree for a chaotic anarchy-fest disguised as a birthday party. The whole way there he kept bouncing around in his car seat while yelling “My Happy! My Happy!”.

When we got there, he and the other kids went absolutely crazy. For about 2 hours he ran around the place screaming and laughing and playing and yelling as only a 2 year old can. And while I got a splitting headache just from watching him, just seeing him so happy made me absolutely and completely happy.

I don’t want this to turn into one of those sappy little posts, so Happy Birthday, buddy. Today was your Happy, but everyday you’re My Happy.
