My boy Aiden is wicked smart. We found out yesterday that he’s the only one in his class that can spell the word ‘red’ properly. Everyone else spells it ‘d-e-r’, which I’m told is wrong.
Just a proud father gushing over his son. Nothing else to see here: move along.

Somehow, by changing the theme of mando.org to Kubrick I’ve busted comments. Hopefully this’ll be an easy fix.
Update: All fixed. It turns out that the installation instructions are a *bit* misleading concerning the permalink structure. If you’re installing Kubrick, make sure that you update your permalink structure even if you think that you haven’t changed the default.

Blacksocks.com is a sock delivery service. Yeah, that’s right. You sign up, and every month or so they send you a new pair of socks. So now, no matter what, you can feel confident that you’ve got the sock situation handled.
This is very close to my sock-dispenser idea.
I’ve always felt that one of the greatest feelings in the entire world is the feeling of pulling on a brand new pair of socks. They can be any kind of socks, really. As long as they’re brand new and fresh out of the package. Man, that’s good feeling.
So, when I become independantly wealthy, I’m going to have a sock dispenser installed in my house.
Every morning I’ll walk up to my sock dispenser (which looks very much like a public restroom paper towel dispenser), pull out 2 brand new socks and pull them on. At the end of the day, I’ll pull off the new socks and throw them in the “Send These Socks To Goodwill” basket. The next day, 2 more new socks.
I can’t wait.

Did anyone watch that creepy show on the SciFi channel last night about M. Night Shyamalan? It’s the “true” story of his life and work, and how all his movies are actually auto-biographical and how he’s “connected to the other side”.
It’s kinda silly to think about it now, but last night with all the lights out, it was kinda spooky
.
But you’ve got to admit: that guy has a way with making movies. He’s great at making you see only what he wants you to see, but at the same time giving you all the pieces necessary to complete the puzzle.

Whew. I just got back from the gym and I’m exhausted. It’s the first time I’ve been in a couple of months and I think it went well. I’ve decided to start training for the Keep Austin Weird 5k, and since sitting around writing code isn’t exactly giving me the burn I would like, I’m gonna start hitting the gym during lunch and going for a run at night.
Workout for today: Chest
- Hammer machine incline press: (10 x 50), (10 x 70), (10 x 70), (10 x 70)
- Hammer machine bench press : (10 x 70), (10 x 70), (8 x 70)
- Hammer machine wide grip bench : (10 x 70), (10 x 70), (10 x 70)
- Deltoid fly machine (reversed) : (10 x 60), (10 x 60), (10 x 60)
* Gotta start learning to use a spellchecker

I think I’ve become a froo-froo tea drinker.
About a month ago, we found a pair of rusted-through needle nose pliers in the water reservoir of our coffee maker at work. After that discovery, I found that I couldn’t touch coffee. Just the smell of it conjured rusty images that made me ill.
So I turned to tea for my hot caffienated beverage fix. And the tea was good.
But after a couple of weeks, I was pining for my old love, so I started back up on the sauce. I started by drinking a cup or two at home, which worked out well. We have a Moka Espresso coffee maker which makes a delicious cup of coffee, so that stuff went down easy.
So today, I decided to go get a cup of coffee here at work. I walked over to the kitchen, and just as I reached for the coffee pot something on the microwave caught my eye. Actually, it caught the corner of my eye. I put the coffee pot down to get a closer look, and it was a tea bag. An Earl Grey tea bag to be more precise. I don’t know who put it there, or how long it had been there. But the next thing I knew, my cup was filled with steaming water and there was a little brown bag of deliciousness floating on the top.
I’m hooked on tea. Please don’t tell anyone.
